Below are some examples of my work:
Original vertical videos
I have helped produce a number of vertical videos for WWE’s social media that have garnered millions of views on platforms like Instagram and TikTok. My work on these projects has included ideation, conducting talent interviews, and collaborating with road producers and video editors to ensure the best final product possible.
WWE’s TikTok channel
In December 2019, I led a team that launched WWE’s official TikTok channel. This included working with video editors to pull clips from our weekly television shows, collaborating with our social media team to get original content featuring WWE talent, and brainstorming on what the best strategy was for WWE on TikTok, ensuring that we speak the language of the platform. Our team’s work has paid off. To date, WWE has amassed over 25 million followers on TikTok, becoming one of the biggest sports leagues on the platform.
WWE’s GIPHY channel
In August 2017, I helped to launch WWE’s official GIPHY channel, working with GIPHY to create GIFs featuring many of the biggest moments of SummerSlam, one of WWE’s premier events. Since then, we have gone on to leverage WWE’s video library to create nearly 5000 GIFs, which accumulated 1 billion views in less than four months.
In 2018, we began creating GIFs with content from WWE’s weekly television series and WWE Network streaming shows, along with original GIFs and Stickers featuring WWE Superstars. This helped drive organic traffic to WWE’s GIPHY channel, raising lifetime GIF views to nearly 5 billion by May 2019. The channel was recognized for its excellence in the field with the 2019 Shorty Award for Best Use in GIFs, which I accepted on stage. To date, WWE has over 20 billion views on GIPHY.
Instagram Stories
I have led production on several original Instagram stories for WWE’s account, including the below one, a behind-the-scenes look at a photoshoot of Superstars posing with classic championships. This included conceptualizing the story with video producers, social media producers and graphic designers, shooting video and photo content for inclusion in the story (including talent interviews), and overseeing the production of the story to completion.
Johnny Gargano’s Farewell to EVOLVE Wrestling
I shadowed NXT Superstar Johnny Gargano at one of his final shows on the independent wrestling circuit, creating a written feature and shooting a photo gallery for WWE.com.
Jinder Mahal SummerSlam Workout
I contributed to the production of a workout video with WWE Champion Jinder Mahal ahead of SummerSlam 2017 in Brooklyn. My contributions included booking the location for the shoot, working with video producers on the concept of the video, and capturing content for WWE’s social media platforms.
WWE Cruiserweight Classic
I was the leader for digital media coverage of WWE Cruiserweight Classic, a 10-week tournament series that aired on WWE Network. My responsibilities included creating and launching the official website for the show, leading my fellow editors in creating talent profiles for the 32 competitors, and working with our video team to create two weeks’ worth of daily video content to promote the show ahead of it’s premiere. In addition, I led the weekly web coverage of the show as it aired.
WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament
Similar to my work on Cruiserweight Classic, I led WWE.com’s coverage of the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament, a two-night live special on WWE Network. This included launching the official website, talent profiles, and several interviews to help introduce a worldwide audience to these new competitors. I also helped produce on-site coverage of the tournament’s announcement in London and the tournament itself in Blackpool, acting as a liaison between our home team covering the event in the U.S. and our road team in England.
The Last Battle of Atlanta
I produced an oral history on what was once one of wrestling’s lost matches: The Last Battle of Atlanta cage match between Tommy Rich and Buzz Sawyer. I conducted interviews with Rich, Sawyer, Paul Ellering (Sawyer’s manager), Shawn Michaels and noted wrestling journalist Bill Apter to piece the story of the match together. When video of the match was discovered in October 2016 (33 years after the match), I updated the feature to tell the tale of its unearthing in WWE’s video archives.
Where Are They Now?
I was responsible for producing our monthly “Where Are They Now?” series, which caught our fanbase up with competitors of yesteryear. Some of my favorite stories included those on Joey Mercury, Jimmy Wang Yang, ESPN’s Jonathan Coachman and former UFC fighter Ken Shamrock.
